We at Humanility would like to take this time to thank you for your partnership and generous donations to Humanility. We, along with the children, are grateful for your care for our "street survivors" at ILSC in Manila, at CEPC in Bogo, Cebu, and at Balay Silonganan in Butuan City, Mindanao. Our mission at Humanility is to Emancipate, Educate, and Empower survivors of poverty, atrocity, tragedy and slavery.
Our mission and goals are noble but to be totally honest, it is not an easy task and we and our staff face many challenges each day. Keeping our children healthy and in school takes a lot of effort and retraining due to the damage and trauma our kids and parents have received living on the streets trying to "survive" for most of their lives. We are working hard to add initiatives and focused types of training to our programs on a continual basis and we celebrate every semester in school as a victory! Please celebrate Angela with us--she completed her first year of school, first grade, at the top of her class and continues to win awards. She is a sweet, intelligent, and helpful child and is so thankful for the opportunity to live in a safe place and attend school each day. Angela's father is in prison and two of her sisters live far away in an orphanage so that they can attend school. Angela helps to take care of her mother who continues to grieve the loss of her older daughters, and her brother Angelo and helps cook meals, do laundry and keep their room clean.
Without you, children like Angela would be back on the street, collecting garbage all night in order to recycle enough to buy food to eat for one day. You may be far away but you are having an amazing impact on these children and families.
Please know that we, and Angela, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your sacrifice to change these lives with opportunities that have lasting impact for the children, the families, and the community!
We are very encouraged with all the progress we have made in 2014 and are excited about what we can do together in 2015!
